What Students Learn

First Strike’s 1-day Basic AWARE Course is not a “self defense” program; you’re not going to learn to punch, kick, bite or scream. That comes later. First, you’re going to learn to think. Everything starts there.

This 8 hour program focuses heavily upon the Principles of Personal Safety, and will teach you critical life-saving skills that can help you effective mitigate or avoid the risk of being a victim all-together. That’s the first phase in really learning how to defend yourself.

• Building a Family Plan for Emergencies
• Civilian Use of Force Continuum
• Legal Aspects of Self Defense
• Less Than Lethal Weapon Options
• Improvised Weapon Options
